Hi Experts: I am in the process of preparing a POC on Substance Volume Tracking to meet some of the controlled substance monitoring requirements for my client. I have worked in most SAP logistics modules and my current focus is EHS (last 5 years). I DO NOT have any hands on experience on SVT. I have gone through the help contents and all available SAP notes & documentations from market place. As per SAP recommendation, I have also pulled all the standard configuration from ‘000’ client via adjustment (In Sandbox system for POC). We are ECC 6.0 and EHP6 and SP10 and all business functions are activated relevant for EHS I have below understanding and few doubts and I request your expert advice and guidance --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Basic master data model I believe we have the standard set-up which SAP recommends where materials are assigned to only 1 Real substance (n:1) and real substances will have compositions of one or more compositions (PURE Substances) Example for Mixture Mixture ‘A’ = Material ‘1000’ = Real Substance ‘A’ Micture ‘A’ is made up of compositions ‘X’ & ‘Y’ which are defined as PURE Substances ‘X’ & ‘Y’ Composition is, 25% PURE ‘X’ + 75% PURE ‘Y’= REAL ‘A’ The substance to be tracked (in our case it is defined as controlled substance) is PURE ‘X’ and target quantity is defined 2 TON at PURE SUB ‘X’ level under SAP_EHS_1023_057 - Registration (Company Specific)) The reactions are set as standard i.e. 70% - warning/information, 90% - warning & email, 100% - warning, email and block Now when I order for scenarios, please review my understanding is correct When I order Material ‘1000’ for a quantity for 8 TON it reaches the target quantity set 100% and order is blocked along with warning/email (8 TON * 25% = 2 TON set at PURE Sub ‘X’ level) When Material ‘1000’ is ordered for a quantity for 7.5 TON – system send an Email along with warning/information as it has crossed 90% (7.5 TON * 25% = 1.875 TON which is 93.75%) When Material ‘1000’ is ordered for a quantity for 6 TON – system gives a warning/information as it has crossed 70% (6 TON * 25% = 1.5 TON which is 75%) Please confirm my understanding and definition of target quantities set at PURE Substance level. Do we, at any point define target quantities at REAL Substance level? I believe even for 100% PURE for a REAL Substance, we still define this at PURE Sub composition which 100% for the Real – Please confirm. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Usage of SAP_EHS_1023_057 - Registration (Company Specific) v/s SAP_EHS_1026_001 - Specific Quantity Limits (SVT) I plan to set global target quantities at configuration/IMG level and define target quanities for most Substances at Substance level. When I reviewed different documents, help.sap, Notes etc. sometimes it suggests using SAP_EHS_1023_057 but I have also read maintaining this at SAP_EHS_1026_001 level. Please help me understand this concept. Is there a prioritization set if target quanities are maintained at both places? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Document Blocking SAP says that the order is blocked after online checks (comparing the offline data which was updated last night) if it exceeds the quanitity set. I hope the total quantity it considers is all planned quantity PLUS confirmed quantities – Please confirm What if we Goods issue some significant quantities after the document is blocked – Would system update this in offline table after nightly batch job and allow to proceed with Order unblocking the following day without PURE Substance quantity increase? Would the reactions (Information/warning, Email, Blocking) gets repeated during Goods receipt? (Process order GR and Purchase order GR) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archiving To be frank, I could not get a complete picture on Archiving concept after reading several documentations Based on my understanding, when we run the archiving job, the offline tracking table is copied over to respective classifications under SAP_EHS_1026_002, SAP_EHS_1026_003, SAP_EHS_1026_004, SAP_EHS_1026_005 for the respective PURE Substances based on the period selection (mostly yearly) – Please confirm. And what happens to the table entries from offline tracking table – gets removed by this or still exists? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beyond REACH As mentioned, I am planning to use SVT for the client’s requirement on some controlled substance monitoring and tracking and has nothing to do with REACH and TSCA*. I want to recognize some selected materials (say using SAP_EHS_SVT class usage) and then utilize all SVT features like tracking, monitoring and blocking etc – Do you think I need to do some extra settings or configuration or user exits so that there will be no limitations with REACH, TSCA etc. Basically I want to use SVT independent of regulations but specific to Plant and Country level. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SVT Monitor and visibility This is related to the previous section How far the visibility is possible with SVT monitoring and tracking. Is it at Site/Plant level or Country level consolidation/aggregation is also possible? How do we achieve this?....via Validity area?.....I have validity area defined for all countries. Do I need to fill in validity area at regulation level (like REACH). Substance Volume Tracking - Basic questions for better understanding
Transfer pure substance values to real substances as a spec listing
Hi all,
Wondering if you can help me. In my previous role, there was a way to transfer maintained values you selected that were in the pure substance to the real substance under the tab 'spec listing' in the endpoint. I know you can do this individually i.e. by maintaining the pure sub ref number (e.g. PU1234) in that spec listing tab, but would have to do it by hand for every endpoint you wanted this component data to pull through on the SDS, and also maintain multiple instances for each component you wanted listed.
My interest is in showing non hazardous component data on the SDS, and was wondering is there a transaction as I was previously used to, or whether this must have been a customisation in SAP which is not offered either as standard or an add on?

Dangerous Goods IDOCS (E1EDD10 Segment)
I have not worked with dangerous goods previously, but have come up with the following situation for my client.
The client was initially not getting TDG data for Canada to Canada shipments. So I configured the validity area to include Canada. When tested this is now showing the TDG in segment E1EDD10 as expected.
Next, we tested Canada to US shipment. The IDOC now has DG data for TDG (Canada) and DOT (US). It contains two E1EDD10 segments. According to the client it should only contain the DOT data as the shipment is going to the US. The TDG is not required.
Question - Is there a way to limit the DG IDOC in this scenario (Canada to US) so it will only display the DOT dangerous goods and the TDG dangerous goods are not displayed.

Which table contain the DGNAD field?
Hello all,
I am already looking the whole day for the table which contains the DGNAD field (Dangerous Goods Description). All I can find are structures, like RDGMDDES, but I would like to find the table containing this table.
I have search everywhere as in SE11 - DD03L and DD03T and in the DGTMD tables and on the internet, but all I find are structure instead of table.
Would somebody able to help? Very much appreciated.

Specification Import & export.
Hi Experts,
I'm getting error while transporting specification from one SAP system to another SAP system.
Select a specification --> specification tab --> data exchange --> Export through directory(al11) path --> download it in DAT file on desktop & again uploading the same file into another system (CG3Z) --> importing specification by CG33 while doing this process it is showing following errors & i cant able find the specification in CG02

Phrase libraries have diff dates.
Data provider BOM BOS Transfer does not exist in address management.
Error searching for specification in system; refer to check log
Couldn't locate any correct identifier.
Please suggest on this.

Report Shipping - Incorrect output type determination
Hello All,
I have configured the report shipping and it seems to work.
However I have an issue which I thought to share with you and get your help on this matter.
I have executed following steps:
a. Mark the material - "A" as "Environment Relevant"
b. I have created a new output type ZXX instead of SDB and have configured the access sequence as "0013 - Sales Org" instead of "0011 - Sales Org/Customer"
c. Maintained the condition record via VV21 for the required sales org, for example - "JAPN"
d. Maintained the output determination procedure for item category
However I have noticed that system works as expected when the material entered on the sales order and delivery is "A".
But if the sales order and delivery has a different material - "B" with sales org. as "JAPN", then also the output type ZXX is determined automatically at the item level . The sales order/delivery has only one item with material as "B".
This material - "B" doesn't have "Environment Relevant" indicator, but still the output type is determined.
I dont understand why.
My understanding is, the output type will only be determined for the "Environment Relevant" material and not for all.
Would really appreciate any help in this regard.
Is there any SAP note which corrects this SAP behavior.?

Cannot create a delegate node in the EHHSS_INCIDENT OBJECT
I am trying to create a delegate node of type /BOBF/TEXT_COLLECTION into the EHHSS_INCIDENT Object.
I have tried the following things so far.
- I was trying to use transaction /BOBF/CUST_UI - but as per Thea Hillenbrand's comment under James Woods article Navigating the BOPF: Part 1 - Getting Started I switched to using Tcode BOB.
- Using this Tcode I First created an enhancement to the standard Business Object called 'ZEHHSS_INCIDENT'.
- However when I open this enhanced object I find that the only options in the context menu are Create Options. There is no option to create a delegate Node
- I then switched to Tcode /BOBF/CONF_UI and Expanded my enhanced object 'ZEHSS_INCIDENT'.
- Here I was able to find the Option to create the Delegate Node, however the option is grayed out as this is in display mode.
- I find no way to switch from the display to change mode as this option also seems to be grayed out in this transaction.
- My Question is - How do I then go about creating a delegate node for this enhanced object.
- Am I missing some point ? Is there no way to create a delegate to an enhanced object of a standard object
- Or is there some other transaction that might help me - I have also used tcode BOPF_EWB but that hasn't helped either.
- I am trying to achieve something like Massimo Oliveri is trying to do here. Add custom field " Other Description" ( long text ,type string ) into BOBF
- Also I have gone through this blog post, but it seems to be for a custom BO - Creating Delegate Node
Extract EHS nutritional value composition to BW
Hallo Everyone,
We are working on extracting Specification data to BW. We have already extracted few properties of specification from the property tree. Now we are trying to extract nutritional value composition data (Value type SAP_RMS_1012_005) to BW.
Is it possible to extract these data with any of the standard datasources. If so how? Or is there anyother way to extract these data?

Few Basic Queries on SAP EHSM Incident Management Process

I will like to take your inputs on few basic queries on the Incident Management process.I will definitely award the points on useful points.
1. I understand that there is an offline process to capture incicents via Adobe forms. I am doubtful about the name of forms used in release 3.0 onwards. For e.g. for incidents it is INC_OFFLINE_REC_INC, from release 3.0 onwards is this form changed to EHHSS_INC_AIF_INC_OFFLINE_REP ?
2. I understand that i need to assign a class CL_EHHSS_INC_INB_PROC_BCS in SO50 to the email id which is also the email id configured in SAP ADobe forms. for allowing offline Adobe form process to work?
3. Can you suggest what is a class name that controls the form reception from witness or damage parties and once the form is released it translates it as an approval task for the incident manager, is it CL_FP_INBOUND_HANDLER?
4. On reporting side fr BI reports there is a role required for me to process , ensuring the bI settings are done. The BI dashboards comes with standard built in reports and KPI's which can be monitored and tracked. For me to let it work is to simply maintain limits, correct and have BI infrastructure in Place ?
5. I am still not sure how can i trigger the file functionality in SAP EHSM. I have completed the configuration and configured BO and exort profiles, however from where do i start the generation of excel files? Do i need to activate BADI to trigger the process?

I have created a new Specification type but everytime I search on this new Specification Type the Hit List only shows the default details Specification Id and Specification Type.

Seeking help from all of you for enlighten me with inputs for enabling me to take next step as a SAP EHS Functional Consultant Role.
Quick information about myself, I am 43 year young guy, have done my Masters in Chem, Post Graduate Diploma in Safety Health and Environment, Certification in NEBOSH-International General Occupational Health & Safety, Lead Auditor of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 with 20+ years of industrial experience of implementation of Safety Health and Environmental Management in various industries (Engineering, Oil & Gas, Automobile, Automotive, Chemical, Facility Management & Infrastructure at India, Middle East, South Africa & US) by working and auditing them for respective EHS Standards.
As I have personally used and witnessed usage of many of the EHS related software which were ERP/ SAP based and found them very useful for making an fool-proof arrangement for effective EHS implementation. I did found some of the functional improvements areas during usage of the same i.e. by deploying EHS best practices I have witnessed at other industries directly or through software which will finally benefit the end-user and hence for the society too.
Following are my queries -
1. What can be the career path for person like me, who is having EHS functional knowledge & experience but does not have direct SAP implementation related experience and certification?
2. What are the minimal certification and qualification I will be requiring before switching to SAP Functional Consultant Role?
3. Who can be some of the best employer for me start this role?
Any other information, suggestions and inputs in this regards are more than welcome.

SVT for TSCA and TSCA 5A

Can someone please give me some advice if possible, I am setting up SVT for the US specifically for the TSCA and TSCA5a regulations.
These need to be tracked separately so two separate regs have been created with different limits. ZUS_TSCA and ZUS_T5A. The limits referring to each have been entered into the Pure Sub and the Legal Comp completed in the REAL SUB.
the Config is created using separate validity areas and separate reg lists for both, but both have the US assigned.
When I fill and track and view in CBRC20 all Pures (wether the data be set up for TSCA or T5A) show up as tracked with the quantities relevant to the correct regulation but not displaying the correct regulation, So a TSCA PU is showing up in the T5A report with the TSCA limits. Anyone tried to maintain two regulations for the same country before and did you have this same problem?

- Where are these fields located in the Transport Classification/DG property tree?
- Does the functionality restrict allowed delivery quantities by means of an error message/warning message at the time of delivery creation or shipment?
